The GOP Debate over a minimum wage for cops
According to a study based on census data, recently highlighted by the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute, some 3,200 members of this state’s law enforcement community — bailiffs, prison guards, jailers, beat cops and deputy sheriffs — are food stamp recipients.
“That’s probably correct,” said Terry Norris, executive director of the Georgia Sheriff’s Association.

AUGUSTA (WJBF) — Hundreds of Georgia Republicans are in Augusta this weekend as the GOP Convention kicked off Friday.
So far, 4 Republicans have officially thrown their hats into the race for Governor, including Lt. Governor Casey Cagle and Secretary of State Brian Kemp.
Kemp has been Secretary of State for more than 7 years, but he’s been in politics for a lot longer.

The small town of Pitts welcomed Secretary of State Brian Kemp on Wednesday, May 17. Kemp was in town for a Meet and Greet time as he is making the rounds in his quest for Governor.
“I’ve been a conservative small business owner for over 30 years,” Kemp voiced, “and have a track record of fighting and winning as Secretary of State. I want to do the same thing as Governor.”
